SpeedNabber™ - Provides Speed Detection and Photo Enforcement.
SpeedNabber™ consists of a radar, a camera and an infrared (invisible) illuminator mounted inside a weatherproof enclosure. The radar determines the speed of an approaching vehicle. The camera automatically takes digital photos of the approaching vehicle (including the license plate) and embeds the time, speed and location into the image. In the event the vehicle speed exceeds a preset limit, the images are retained for future viewing/downloading. Otherwise the images and the associated transaction are immediately deleted.
The unit includes a wireless access port for ease in uploading the violations. This allows the user to access the unit with a notebook computer and upload the violations. In the event a network connection is available the SpeedNabber™ can be directly connected to the network and the violations uploaded to a central location. If a system wide wireless connection is avilable, the unit can be polled through the wireless interface. The SpeedNabber™ includes an adjustable mount for fixed mounting of the unit to a pole.
